Meet and Greet Round-Robin Style — Writers Alley Crew

Happy Monday, everyone! I decided to mix things up this week and do a round-robin Meet and Greet.

As many of you know, I contribute to a writing blog called The Writers Alley, and I thought it’d be fun to ask my fellow bloggers the following question.

—–

Say you sit down to a catered dinner and are offered the following three-course meal options. Which one do you choose and why? (No mixing and matching!)

1) Appetizer: French onion soup; Main Course: Prime rib and baked potato; Dessert: Creme brulee topped with raspberries

2) Appetizer: Chef’s salad with honey mustard dressing; Main Course: Chicken and dumplings; Dessert: Apple pie a la mode

3) Appetizer: Bruschetta; Main Course: Spaghetti with meat sauce; Dessert: Death by chocolate cake

Would you believe they ALL chose #1?! I loved reading their reasons…

“I’d give my hubby the soup, since I wouldn’t like it. I’d devour the Prime rib, pick at the baked potato (I’m more of a mashed girl) and give the rest to my hubby. The crème Brule I’d LOVE however I’d pick off the raspberries…

I’m a meat/Mashed potatoes kinda girl, what can I say!?!” ~ Krista Phillips

“Oh man…I want to pick number 3 because I LOVE chocolate cake, but for overall most appealing meal…I’d pick number 1. French onion soup, yum! Meat and potatoes, yum! Creme brulee…not as much, but I’d already be so full by dessert, I wouldn’t miss it much.” :) ~ Cindy Wilson

“I would soooo mix and match if I could! But since I cannot, I would go with #1…mainly for the baked potato and creme brule! Oh my, I adore creme brule. Prime rib is okay, but I love potato…cooked any way imaginable. I dislike French Onion soup though.” :) ~ Sherrinda Ketchersid

“Most likely I have been invited to this catered meal by either the president of some organization who is under the impression I will donate money from my money tree out back, or am on a romantic cruise with my husband dressed in blue jeans because our last shekel purchased the ticket. Either way, my husband would be there. I would choose #1 because I love French onion soup (French–romantic, am I reaching here?). My husband would eat 2/3 of my prime rib because no chef knows how to cook a well done, savory, melt in your mouth prime rib (it always spills red yuck onto anything else on my plate). This would make hubby happy. I would keep my baked potato, scraping off any sour cream to keep my stomach from growling through the boring speech guaranteed to follow such wonderful meals. Last, I’d savor the delicious creme brulee topped with raspberries because I’ve heard (from “High School Musical”) that it is really satisfying.” ~ Mary Vee

“Answer 1 – Of COURSE! I’m a meat and potatoes girl! And it’s CATERED! That means someone else is paying. Bring on that prime rib. Yum.” ~ Pepper Basham

“Well, I was going to pick #1 just for the creme brulee. That is something that is difficult to make perfectly. Took me many practices when working for a patisserie and still not convinced I got it down. I would go for the most challenging meal to make, because when I’m going out I don’t want something I could make just as well at home. Creme brulee fits the bill there.” ~ Julia Reffner

And my favorite response…

“Oh man, you separated the prime rib and chocolate!!!! I’ll have to choose…….#1.” ~ Angie Dicken

Yes, I did separate the steak and chocolate. Can you believe no one was wooed by the chocolate?!

Your turn…Which  meal would you choose and why?

*The winner of last week’s Amazon giveaway is Diana Flowers! I’ll email you this week with details.
