A Potpourri Post: Fun Photo and Fun News

Hey everybody! I’ve spent the start of my summer keeping my kiddos entertained and writing like crazy. But I thought I’d come out of hiding for a minute to share a couple fun things.

Two weeks ago, I got to meet up with a fellow writer and agent-mate of mine while I was on vacation. Cynthia Herron and I had fun chatting about all things life and writing over lattes and scones (all while trying to keep my 2-year-old daughter entertained). Cynthia has such a sweet spirit and a beautiful smile. Here’s a pic…and no, my daughter didn’t take it. :)

My other fun news is that an essay of mine was recently published in the book, Mother of Pearl: Luminous Lessons and Iridescent Faith, compiled by Margaret McSweeney. Many of you remember when my sister had a heart transplant last year. This essay is about that day. All the proceeds for the book go to charity, and you can learn more about it by visiting Margaret’s website.

So that’s what’s new with me! How about in your world? What’s your favorite memory from the summer so far?
