Amazon Giveaway: One Simple Question!

In honor of the London Olympics, what’s your favorite summer Olympics sport to watch, and why?

(This is a really tough one for me–I know, I know, I can’t answer my own question. I’m a major Olympics fanatic and I love it all. But one thing I love watching most is the lesser known sports like equestrian, archery, or ping pong since I don’t get to see them any other time.)

Answer this question in the comments, and you’ll be entered in the drawing for a $10 Amazon e-gift card. Drawing ends on Friday at midnight. Winner will be announced in next week’s post. Good luck!

*The winner of last week’s MaryLu Tyndall giveaway is Paula Osborne! I’ll contact you this week with details.

I do love the excitement of the swimming best, but I know what you mean about lesser known sports. I find myself watching hockey, soccer, water polo, canoeing, equestrian & basketball, for example, ALL in the space of half an hour. It’s an eye opener that’s for sure.

  2. Ooooh how to pick…normally it’s gymnastics, but for me, this year (for some reason) – it’s running. (Although it does freak me out when they show the runners in slow motion, post-race. Strange face contortions!!)

  3. Gymnastics and synchronized swimming are really fun to watch at the summer Olympics.

  4. Judy

I love to watch gymnastics. I’m not sure what the attraction is. For some reason I’m just fascinated with it. I guess it is watching everyone put their all into it and I know that each and everyone trained hard. When they make a mistake it shows on their faces at the end of their performance and my heart goes out to them.

I love watching it all! Some of my favorites to watch in the Olympics are the synchronized diving, the trampoline, and all the track events (especially the hurdles). I have such a great respect for those who put in the hours of training every day!

  6. I like to watch gymnastics. I just think the flips are incredible.

  7. I used to think diving, but I’m switching to rowing or soccer. Or gymnastics or running. I’m very decisive today. :D

  8. I like to watch gymnastics, and also enjoy swimming. It’s fun too, to see all the other events. Thanks for asking. It’s hard to believe the Olympics are more than halfway over already.

    Happy Monday! :)

  9. I’ve been really hooked on the men’s swimming, rooting for Michael Phelps. I know….so predictable.

    Tough one, Sarah!
I love the gymnastics too, and the swimming. But the beach volleyball (both men and women), has been fun this year. And my family has really enjoyed the track events.

Oh, this is a toughy for me too. :) I loved watching the women’s marathon yesterday, but I’m a big swimming fan too. I also love watching my kids as they watch (could that be considered an Olympic sport?) ;)

Gymnastics and swimming in the summer, and even though you didn’t ask this question, I love the couple’s figure skating during the winter Olympics! Love the background music, the costumes, and the romantic feel of it!

  13. Has to be gymnastics. I’m glued to the TV, BUT, I also have to say that watching the parents of these athletes is a sport all in it’s own. I can’t help but feel their anxiety and nerves right along with them!

  14. Gymnastics, hands down. I just love watching the floor exercise stuff especially because it’s so beautiful and creative…and a little fun if they add a few dance moves. ;)

  15. I really enjoy the beach volleyball. And the swimming. And, of course, the gymnastics.

  16. wilmajean2

I like gymnastics, synchronized swimming & equestrian .

  17. Amy C

Gymnastics all the way!! I’ve been watching since I was a kid and saw Mary Lou win gold in 1984. Then of course like many other little girls, I started gymnastics. Loved it!

  18. Aubrey

    I love the gymnastics :)

I can’t pick just one…Love the gymnastics, archery, and track and field.
I used to do gymnastics, but then grew too tall. I took on track and field and archery. I’m actually a high jump champion.

  20. i like the ice skating because it’s so beautiful, but i rarely watch any of the Olympics. am i un-American, or what? does that disqualify me? lol!

  21. Yay, gymnastics! I almost have to say that because I live in Des Moines–Shawn Johnson, Gabby Douglas. :)

  22. The winter Olympics are my fave – ice skating! I even watch ice skating shows/competitions during the off years.

The summer Olympics – gymnastics, but I watched some volleyball this year and really liked it.

  23. Pam K.

It’s a toss up between gymnastics and swimming, but I also find myself watching the running events or whatever is shown in the evenings. I’m usually not much of a TV watcher but I’ve been watching each evening of the Olympics. There’s just something compelling about watching the athletes give their all in the events.

  24. smallftprints

I really like the uneven parallel bars … those kids fly! :-)

  26. Hello, everyone! Wow, sounds like gymnastics is the clear favorite! And lots of swimming fans too. I really do love it all and hate to miss anything, thus my complete sleep deprivation at the moment. :)

Hope you all enjoy Week 2 of the Olympics (and get more sleep than me)! :)

  27. Glogirl

I like to watch gymnastics because it’s amazing to see what some people can do!

  28. auntiethesis
