I don’t know how many of you watch The Biggest Loser on TV, but I’ve become hooked. I love seeing people work hard to be a healthier version of themselves.
One of the people I’ve most connected with this season is Kim. She’s a former professional wrestler who let herself go after an injury and having children.
This is exactly where I found myself a couple years ago. No, I wasn’t a professional wrestler.
But I’ve always been conscientious about exercise and healthy living…until I had children and subsequent health issues. I love seeing Kim’s tenacity and joy as she reaches her goals because I’ve found the same joy in rediscovering my own health.
If you’re struggling to get motivated, no matter what your current weight is, take a look at Kim’s photos. It’s never too early or too late to take charge of your health.

Kim – After
You’ll have to go to The Biggest Loser website to see her After photo. It’s definitely worth a click!

So let’s talk…Are you a fan of The Biggest Loser? Which contestant do you most relate to and why? If you don’t watch the show, what would you say is your current level of health motivation? What would inspire you to take that level up a notch?

I LOVE the Biggest Loser, and Kim is probably my favorite thsi season. Definitely my favorite of the ones who are left! I think my favorite ever contestants were Michelle Aguilar and Abby Rike – and Olivia (whose last name I forget, but she won last season). I appreciated that they were there to lose weight and not start drama. I hate the drama!
I agree about the drama, Bekah! I think that’s why I like Kim so much. She’s there to get healthy again…not to play a “game”.
I watch the Biggest Loser every now and then. I remember watching it a couple years ago as they ran the marathon. That was such an inspiration for me. I decided to run a marathon myself after that.
That’s awesome, Heidi! I had no idea that’s what inspired your marathon…very cool.
I occasionally watch the show. While I keep an eye on my weight, workout, and try to eat nutritious foods, it is only one facet of my life. Other areas hold more importance to me.
Good point, Susan. Health and wellness is important, but perspective is always key.
I can’t even tell you what night B.L. is on – but every so often, I HAVE stumbled on it accidentally. And when I do, I AM motivated to pay attention to my health.
Now, I’m going to the link to see Kim’s “after” photo!
It’s hard to not be motivated by the show, isn’t it, Rebecca? Thanks for swinging by today!
Not watching this season, but I’ve been hooked other seasons. Healthy thinking motivates me. Exercise helps w/ that.

Endorphins are addictive…and brain-boosting.
I love to work out while watching The Biggest Loser. I find myself responding to the Bob and whatever-the-new-guy’s-name-is when they challenge and encourage the participants. I haven’t watched quite as regularly in the past couple seasons, but I have caught the past few episodes and I like Kim, too. She’s tenacious.
What was up with the two guys just up and quitting this week though?
Hi Melissa! I love the new trainer…I think he’s my fave of all time. And I was wondering if anyone would bring up the quitting thing. Definitely a let-down. I know they were “staying true to themselves”, but come on….to pass up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like that…I just found it cowardly.
I love the show’s concept even though I don’t watch it much. It is inspirational, and I love that it helps so many to live healthier lives.
Have a lovely weekend!
I agree, Karen. Happy weekend to you too!
I don’t watch it every week, but I watch every now and then. Kim looks awesome!
Doesn’t she, Julie? She looks like she could be one of the trainers now.
I don’t watch the show regularly, but loved the few episodes I have seen. And right now, I’m trying to get healthy again. I am 10 pounds heavier than I was this time last year. And I don’t even have kids yet! Blah.
I know all about that blah feeling, Lindsay. This time last year I was 20 pounds heavier than I am now. I’m just one pound from my “ultimate goal”. It can be done!
I’m always amazed at their transformations! I quit watching it to get in some writing time, but my DH and DD watch it together. Bonding time for them! While they eat pizza! LOL
Haha, Jessica! Veggie pizza, right?
I don’t watch The Biggest Loser, but have in the past. When I see the before and after pics they definitely motivate. Everyone loves a success story!
I agree, Lacie! My favorite episode is the finale when you see everyone’s “After”.
Wow, that’s a major transformation. I’ve watched The Biggest Loser, but I’m not following it now. It’s definitely one of those shows that motivates you to get healthier. I AM doing Jillian Michael’s 30-day Shred right now and I love it. I’m doing pretty well with the exercising part, now I just need to eat healthier
Oohhh, “Shred”….That sounds intense, Cindy.
But baby weight makes us do crazy things, doesn’t it?
I didn’t watch it this season. I have watched it before.
Wow Kim! WTG!
I’ve never watched The Biggest Loser, but I’m watching a number of wonderful women at my local Curves who are losing weight and getting fit. It’s such fun to cheer for their weigh-in victories and dole out high fives.
I used to be an exercise-phobe, but then I learned I have osteoporosis. My sedentary life went by the wayside last November as I began going to Curves three days a week and walking the other four. What’s been way cool is watching my attitude change. At first I was working out because I need to in order to strengthen my bones. It didn’t take long, though, before I began to think of exercise as something I want to do. I’m hooked!
Keli, How awesome to have the kind of support you do at Curves. They’re definitely doing things the right way.
Isn’t it amazing how different she looks, Loree? Definitely inspiring!
I LOVE the Biggest Loser, but I usually only watch one season a year. I loved last Fall’s edition. It’s really motivating to watch others commit to healthy living.
Great pics! Wow–she’s gorgeous!!
Hi Jill! I hear ya…A writer-mom only has so many hours to watch TV in a week.
I’ve not really watched this show, but I’ve seen interviews with some of the show’s contestants, and they’re inspiring folks! We should all commit to healthier life choices.
Definitely inspiring, Cynthia. I’m always impressed with how permanent they make their life changes after they leave the show. Not an easy thing to do!
whoa. that is inspiring. she looks great. i watched the show when it first came out. Screech from Saved by the Bell was on there? he was a jerk, too. but there were a few famous people on there that season. haven’t watched it since…although i can totally relate!
