Can you believe it’s March already?! That means springtime is just around the corner, which means it’s time to catch up on the latest fashion trends. These are just a sampling. (And of course, I had to pick the interesting versions…There are better versions in all these categories, I promise.
)
Colorful jeans:

This look has one thing going for it: Mustard. You don’t have to worry about spilling it on yourself.
—–
French Inspiration:
In case you didn’t know what to do with your old drapes.
—–
Geometric prints:
The exits are here, here, and….well, here.
—–
And another geometric print (because it’s just that bad):
Apparently now you can leave the house in your hideous pajamas and call it fashion.

Anyone ready to go out and buy these clothes?
What trend appeals to you most? Least?

How silly of me to look for an Easter dress when there were MUSTARD JEANS I could be wearing instead! lol. Okay maybe I’ll go back to my own dress search. Actually with some of those I was thinking…didn’t we see those before in the 80′s? At least a version of them?
So true, Bekah! The bright colors and geometric prints are definitely a throwback to the 80s.
I am thinking I will pass on these selections.
Hard to believe it is March already!
Have a great weekend!
And think of all the money (and humiliation) you’ll save yourself, Karen!
Ugh. I didn’t like any of those trends. Wah!
I think spring is already here. I’m seeing robins and lots of rabbits already. This weather has even confused them. LOL
LOL, Jennifer, I remember hearing birds chirp a month ago and feeling sorry for the little guys if winter actually materialized.
Yikes. I guess I won’t be trendy this year. I have seen some cute versions of the colorful jeans, but I’m just not quite that brave.
I agree, Julie, I think the jeans could be cute if the right color. My problem is I’m too practical…I can’t justify spending money on jeans like that when I have jeans that are multi-functional and match more than one shirt.
These can remain in the store, thank you very much.
LOL, Susan, I’m shocked you don’t want the PJ look!
I’m laughing. As you well know from my wearing feather earring every day, I follow trends religiously.
I wouldn’t be caught dead in these.
~ Wendy
I thought of you the other day, Wendy. Drove by a hair salon that advertised feather extensions. Chic!
ROFL! This was hilarious! I’m all for sportin pj’s everywhere I go. Pajama jeans!!!
Oh yeah, pajama jeans all the way, Jessica. Did you notice the nice tuxedo look on the sides of those geometric pants? You could wear them to a wedding!
Oh. My. Word. How in the world does ANYONE think that’s attractive? Sheesh.
Happy Friday, Sarah! Thanks for the laugh. (You WERE kidding, right? …)
Haha! Definitely kidding, Lindsay.
LOL! Your captions are hysterical! Honestly, what appeals to me most is whatever’s comfy.
Thanks for the Friday morning laugh!
Oh yeah, I’m totally with you, Heidi. Comfy and stain-proof.
How did you get that picture of me in my jumpsuit?? Do you have spies?
I’m soooo not trendy. But I do need to stock up on some basics. Shopping. Yuck.
LOL, Jill! You caught me. I paid a P.I. big-time bucks to get that picture.
Woohoo, I’m excited for Spring, but maybe…not for these clothes
I don’t know if I can go for the leg warmers either, I hear they’re coming back. My kids are pretty much always dressed better than me, so basically if I even get into jeans and do my make-up, I consider myself at the top of my game
I’m with you, Cindy. Jeans and make-up are for my dressy days.
I love the colorful jeans. I’m game!
Some of them aren’t so bad, are they, Loree? I’ll admit the mustard isn’t really my favorite, but some others looked cute.
So funny, Sarah! You reminded me of that part in Gone with the Wind. Remember, when Scarlett makes a gown out of the drapes?
And judging from what I saw on the Academy Awards runway recently, none of the above attire would seem too surprising these days.
I love color, but would prefer it not be all mismashed together. Too busy for this gal!
A little goes a long way, right, Cynthia?
Colorful jeans? Wow! That brings back memories. I had purple jeans, burnt orange, jeans and yellow jeans in my junior year of high school. (That would be our bicentennial year–1976. Yes, I’m that old
My yellow jeans weren’t as bright as those in your post, though, Sarah. They were more of a spicy brown mustard color. Yes, I wore them. No, I didn’t get asked out once that year. They went by the wayside before my senior year. I am teachable.
LOL, Keli! Oh, what I wouldn’t give to see a picture of these spicy brown mustard jeans.
I love the colors of spring, and down here in GA it’s already warm enough to pull out the flip flops (I totally did today!!). Believe it or not, I had some mustard colored jeans when I was in the 8th grade. I’m glad they’re making a comeback. One trend I don’t like that’s making a comeback: jumpsuits. No way, Jose. You’ll never catch me in a jumpsuit unless I’m dressed like a fighter pilot.
Flip flops? I’m soooo jealous, Jenny!
i wore a bang up pair of turquoise jeans in and around middle school. nothing new under the sun, i guess. fashion does come back around. except for MC Hammer pants. i hope those stay away for good. you should do a post on fashion trends that should never be resurrected.
Haha! Hammer pants were the best. One-size-fits all.
Love this post (love fashion blogs, too, though I can’t afford to buy any of it). Yes, mustard, a universally flattering color (NOT! kinda like chartreuse!). And I’m getting sick of the prints already–esp. those computer-generated ones. Why not just make camo clothes cool again? I’d totally wear camo. But uber-flowery stuff, why wear it when you can go out and LOOK at real flowers in springtime?
LOL, Heather, I’m with you. I love keeping up with fashion, but I can’t afford to wear the latest trends. By the time I’d get my wardrobe updated, it’d all be out of style next month.
Oh goodness. Did you try to find the worst ones possible. I certainly won’t be wearing any of them. But the scary thing is, I think the mustard yellow jeans are the least offensive of the group. Maybe Jennifer will buy a pair and model for us.
You pegged me, Naomi. I definitely found the worst ones possible.
And I agree about the mustard. At least you could cover them up with a long shirt or sweater.
LOL! The other day I saw that neon colors were coming back into style! Really? I hated these when they came out the first time (back when I was in third grade). Man, that was a long, long time ago. Oy.
LOL, Pretty painful, isn’t it, Jenny?
Sarah: I hope I can find something a lot more suitable for me than these. When I was in college, I had a pair of canary yellow jeans and a matching blouse. So, I might understand the mustard colored jeans. Those prints aren’t for me at all.
I can’t imagine those prints being for very many people, Cecelia.
I’m certainly not brave enough to give them a try.
