Top 5 Items on My Bucket List

I’ve been thinking a lot about bucket lists lately. It probably has something to do with the professional tennis world gearing up for the U.S. Open (See #4 below). In any case, I decided to put myself out there and announce the Top 5 items on my bucket list (and yes, these are serious, as opposed to my normally goofy Top 5 Lists).

5. Visit all 50 states and all 7 continents (Maybe with the exception of Antarctica).

4. Go to all four tennis Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open).

3. Lead a fitness class. (Okay, this one is completely random and ambitious. I just think it’d be cool to be buff enough to teach other people how to exercise.)

2. Sign with a stellar literary agent.

1. Get a book published (or two or three).

What’s on your bucket list?

Last week’s Amazon giveaway winner is Kate! (I’ll email your prize shortly.)

  1. Hi Sarah -

I second the motion on the literary agent and having book(s) published. :) I’d also like to speak and teach at a writers conference someday. Okay, that’s four. #1 on my list is to fulfill the destiny God has for my life.

    Blessings,
    Susan

  2. I have a gut feeling you are pretty close to that #2 and heck, who knows maybe #1 & #3. Oh, all of ‘em. ;)

  3. Number 5 would be fantastic, but I may have to send my kids in as pinch hitters to finish the challenge.

  4. I’m with you on #5 all the way! I think I would even visit Antartica just to say I did. Why leave one open item?

    I would also include #2 and #1.

My bucket list would also include living in a different culture for a year or more. I think that would be an unforgetable experience.

  5. Wow, Sarah. Commenting on your blog really makes me wake up and think–and it’s not even7:30 over here in CO!
On my bucket list: I want to travel to Australia. I don’t know why. I just do.
There’s more, I know. Let me go exercise and I’ll get back to you.

  6. Congrats to Kate!

My bucket list would include a few of your items – like 1 & 2, even 3 would be fun! :) I’d also like to travel around the US first, then overseas, and perhaps build my dream home.

  7. Lead a fitness class? You are adventurous, Sarah!

Other than a prosperous career in writing, I’d really like to visit England and tour the castles.

  8. I don’t really have a bucket list. I’ve been blessed in so many ways that I’m quite content with the life I’m leading right now. I love my family and friends, my home, my hometown, and my chosen career. Well, there could be a bit more Taco Bell in my future and another Coach bag or two. And I’ve love it if my metabolism hadn’t gone and changed on me when I passed the big 40 some years ago, but other than that I’m pretty happy. =)

  9. All right. I’d also like it if I could type a comment without a typo in it. And maybe the Lord could work on my perfectionism. =)

  10. I just enjoy waking up in the morning, alive.

  11. Loree Huebner

    Definitely #2 and #1.

    I like # 5 too.

  12. Oh, bucket lists are something my best friend and I have put much thought into lately. I have any individual desires, and we’ve made a joint list. Small things and big things, they’re all about becoming the best possible me and really living life.

    Best with your list, Sarah!

  13. Double like on publishing books! I’m with you there. Then there’s building that house and landing many more newspapers. Those are just a few items in my bucket today. :)

  14. Definitely the find a great agent and publish books! :) I would love to visit Italy and Nova Scotia one day; buy a classic car and fix it up; and possibly have a farm or ranch.

  15. So…I gotta ask. When did you write and schedule this list. ;-)

  16. My bucket list is not to kick the bucket, lol. At least not for a while anyway.

  17. I have honestly never thought about a bucket list. I guess when I was younger, “A husband and kids” where the two things on my list.I told God if I at least got to experience those two things, he could take me whenever. But now that I have those two things… I’m thinking that leaving my kids alone would be sad! So I’ve added grandkids and great grandkids to the list! (I had Karalynn when I was 19… this is totally doable without me being 100 years old and not able to pee by myself…) :-)
